ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Greg Lundstedt
How did I come to
faith?
I placed my
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 6 years old. God
really used my parents in this process. I thank God for my Biblical
up-bringing. They built a foundation for sound biblical doctrine.
I can't thank them enough for this. During my childhood, I
would listen with my parents to many teaching tapes, this also
helped build the foundation for my Christian life.
A Turning Point
I was a good kid
until my teenage years. My parents impressed on me the importance of
having Christian friends. I did not listen. This was the beginning of my
backsliding. I got into pot and alcohol in High School. I was pretty good
at keeping this a secret from my parents.
On February 14,
1991, I was pulled over and put in jail for a night. For years, God
had been convicting me of my sin. That night He graciously set His heavy
disciplinary hand on me. God made it clear to me that I had to choose Him
or the world. I confessed my sin and gave my entire life over to Him.
From that
wonderful Valentine's Day to the present, I have had a deep desire and
commitment to read, study, teach, preach and share God's Word. Jesus
Christ has become my life. As I have grown in my relationship with Jesus
Christ, He has been continually showing me that I am not adequate, but
that He is.
How God has Gifted me
In
terms of spiritual gifts, I believe that God has given me, the
Pastor-teacher gift. Besides a great love for teaching, I have a
special joy and delight in proclaiming the Word through preaching.
I praise Him for the great blessing to serve within these gifts by His
power and strength alone.
Training and Experience God has
blessed me with
After graduating from San Jose State University
with a BS in Aeronautics and before
attending Western Seminary, I was a corporate pilot for six years in the
Bay Area. During that time God was impressing on my heart that He
had called me to preach and teach His Word. While attending
Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, God began to give me various
outlets to study and teach His Word. Also, while serving there I was discipled
by Ron Ritchie (Not Bill Ritchie), and met Hillary my wife.
In 1996, my wife and I felt led to begin full
time seminary studies at Western Seminary's San Jose extension in Los Gatos CA.
While in seminary, I also interned at my home church
Peninsula Bible Church
in Palo Alto CA.
After graduating from Western with a Masters of Divinity in 1999, I
pastored and helped a small church in Waterford CA for a year. God greatly used this experience to drive me to
depend on Him and prepare us for stepping out in faith here at Vancouver
Bible Fellowship. I am so grateful
that God has put a great desire on my
heart to shepherd His sheep and to feed them with His Word.

My wife Hillary and our sons
Daniel and Stuart and daughter Julianna
God has
graciously brought me a fantastic wife. We met at Peninsula Bible Church
in Palo Alto during the summer of 1995 and were married on August 3,
1996.
Hillary is a
fully committed follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hillary
placed her faith in
Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on December 7, 1990. She has
been continually growing in her relationship with our Lord. She also has
a deep desire to grow and increase in the knowledge of Him.
Hillary has a Masters in Special Education from Santa
Clara University. Before the birth of our first son Daniel,
Hillary taught 3rd grade learning handicapped class at Los
Altos Christian School for 5 years.
We now
have two sons and a daughter. Daniel who
is 10 years,
Stuart who is 8
years and Julianna who is 22 mo old. Hillary and I are so thankful to God for our
children.
Hillary now
devotes her time to raising our children and now has been home schooling I am so blessed to be married to Hillary. God has
used her in so many ways to help me grow closer to Him.
